Butchers union never disappoints. Brunch and dinner items are consistently so delicious! I'd recommend making a reservation as they get quite busy, reasonably. Brunch- the egg quiche was so good! A good amount of inclusions but not so many you feel you get no egg. Side salad is basic but good. Smoked salmon Benedict we would order a million times. Breakfast potatoes prob would not order again. They're fine but boring. I'd choose a different side. The bacon is great if you love thick cut. It has a decent amount of both meat and fat. Deviled eggs also a must! Perfectly creamy and full of flavor. Dinner- we ordered the salmon ceviche, burrata which both were delicious. The ceviche had apple which was a surprising crunch. I wish I could remember both entrees, but I only remember that my husband ordered a steak which was cooked as requested. I didn't try but he had only positive comments. For dessert we got the chocolate mousse. At that point so stuffed so the portion size was perfect for us.

We absolutely love butchers union! It is a go to spot in Grand Rapids. This restaurant has a very large whiskey selection, all of which they can make an incredible old-fashioned with. Food is very good as well, however, the only complaint is that they do not have a lot of Soy-free options to accommodate my Soy allergy. I still would certainly recommend this restaurant.

Loved our meal here. I had an incredibly good jalapeño chicken sandwich. I also tried the burger, which was delicious as well. The vibes and service were fantastic as well - super recommended!

Food? Delicious! Loved my ribeye and accompanying potatoes and asparagus. Service? Delightful! Our server patiently attended to our group and brought out drinks soon after we requested them. They even let us sit down and start ordering before the whole party arrived (two in our group are serial late-comers, so I'm glad we could be served while they caught up). The indoor covered patio area is beautiful. I love the lighting and the open, minimal aesthetic. I definitely will eat here again!

Food and service were great! Definitely coming back. Best dinner I've had all year. We sat in the back of the restaurant under hanging plants. Very nice ambiance.

So good! Was visiting Grand Rapids for a weekend hockey tournament and found this place on TikTok. So glad we decided to try it out. Steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Cocktails were fresh and tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and for the quality of food reasonably priced. Definitely would return if I'm back in the area.

Two Sundays in a row at Butcher's Union. Well, consistency is important. Plus I snapped a few pics. I ordered the Crab Benedict again with a side of Applewood Bacon. Every thing was great again. The service was good, different from last week, but it was a different person. Again, great vibe at this place. Doors open, light breeze blowing in, music in the background. There was a gentleman at the kitchen window making sure the orders are right and set up on a tray. Gave me the notion that Butcher's Union cares about what they're doing. ** on a side note, I asked for crispy bacon and they cooked it exactly as I like it.

By far one of my favorite places to get a great cut of meat and a tasty cocktail. They have a great selection of whiskey and bourbon options and they make a mean old fashioned. Plus if you come on your birthday you get 50% off your entree. The restaurant is always clean and they offer great indoor and outdoor seating. All of the staff was very kind and our waitress did an excellent job of helping us decide on our drink and food options. I had the ribeye for my meal and it was delicious and perfectly done!

Oh baby. Every time I've been to Butchers Union, it's been a fantastic, memorable meal, and this one was no different ‍ Apps We had their barbecue pork belly and shrimp & burrata. These were both DECADENT. The strawberries on the pork belly made this feel like something I'd never had before. (I'm obsessed). Entrees I had the scallops and risotto and I am still drooling over it. The scallops were like butter, and the risotto was so flavorful (and filling ). Would recommend to any scallop lover. Derek had a hanger steak, and our dinner guests had steaks as well- as always, Butchers Union always does their steaks right If you're looking for a good cut of meat cooked perfectly, this is your place to go. Not pictured: countless cocktails and glasses of wine PS I'm an amateur and did not bring my little food light- don't mind the weird yellow hues + my attempts to edit it out

Very nice gastropub kind of restaurant in Grand Rapids offering high quality meat-centric foods in an elevated setting. Wagyu Sirloin from Snake River Farms ($30.75) - While the steak was generally pretty good, I do have a few points for improvement. First off, I had asked for it to be cooked medium, but it was more like medium-well. As a result, the steak was a bit tougher than I would've hoped for, especially given it was wagyu sirloin. The red wine reduction was pretty good with a rather light flavor, allowing for the steak to sort of speak for itself. The crispy onion flakes were a nice addition to the plate, as were the green beans. The potato gratin was good, but I think it could've been improved with a bit more crispiness to the potatoes. Ricotta Agnolotti ($24.25) - This was delicious. The agnolottti pasta is kind of like a ravioli cut in half and stuffed with ricotta cheese. The asparagus helped the dish feel light and healthy. The guanciale (bits of salt-cured meat) also helped to complete the dish. The pasta was topped with garlic breadcrumbs and pecorino cheese, thereby finishing off this yummy dish. Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp ($10.50) - A crowd favorite, this is like a perfect dessert, with the fresh strawberries and rhubarb to go with the almond streusel bits for some tasty crunchiness, topped with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was definitely on the sweet side, but that was partly just because of the strawberries. We also got a mocktail for only $4. They can customize them however you'd like, and we asked for a "sweet and fruity" one, which was exactly that - a tasty and good value drink. The restaurant itself has a really nice environment that is both casual and somewhat classy. There is a pretty big bar area, along with plenty of other table seating. The indoor area is decorated with a dark colored theme, making it feel warm and cozy. It is lively but still a comfortable volume for normal conversation. In addition to the indoor area, there is also a very nice semi-outdoor patio area in the back, which has walls around it but is open on the top. This place seems to be one of the most popular restaurants in town and we had to wait for about an hour for a weekend lunch after putting our names down on the waitlist. Once we sat down, the service speed was pretty quick though. And our waitress was friendly with just the right amount of attentiveness. Overall, while I did have a couple minor points for improvement on the steak (which was still good), the food here as a whole was delicious. Plus, with the nice environment and good service, Butcher's Union is certainly a great option for a nice lunch or dinner in Grand Rapids.
